levers Report post Posted November 13, 2015 I have a rifle that is marked 30-06 but it has been rechambered to either 300 Win or 300 Weatherby. It will chamber a 300 Win round but I don't have a 300 Weatherby round to try in it. Would anyone be willing to loan me a round to see if it will chamber? I'm in south Tempe area. Thanks

levers Report post Posted November 13, 2015 I was just going to see which would chamber and then loan it to my buddy to see how he did. I found a smith that will do the chamber cast for $60. Does that sound fair?

levers Report post Posted November 13, 2015 Actually, one of the gunsmith's I called told me to go ahead and fire a 300 Win in it. Another told me an easy way to do the chamber cast at home so I'll do that.

levers Report post Posted November 14, 2015 The gunsmith suggested doing just as the video link from Midway in the earlier post except using paraffin wax. Have not tried it yet.
LJSIII Report post Posted November 14, 2015 Only asked because my grandfather had one stollen that had been rechambered. No one would know until trying to shoot a round through it
