Need to borrow…..one round of 300 Weatherby

Recommended Posts

I have a rifle that is marked 30-06 but it has been rechambered to either 300 Win or 300 Weatherby. It will chamber a 300 Win round but I don't have a 300 Weatherby round to try in it. Would anyone be willing to loan me a round to see if it will chamber? I'm in south Tempe area.

Thanks

I was just going to see which would chamber and then loan it to my buddy to see how he did. I found a smith that will do the chamber cast for $60. Does that sound fair?

I have both 300's in Peoria if you need a caseing for each.

Slug the chamber would be the best bet.

Actually, one of the gunsmith's I called told me to go ahead and fire a 300 Win in it. Another told me an easy way to do the chamber cast at home so I'll do that.

This isn't by chance a ruger number 1 single shot with the barrel marked 30-06 is it?

Do you mind sharing? And did it work?

Only asked because my grandfather had one stollen that had been rechambered. No one would know until trying to shoot a round through it
