Bass Pro buying out Cabelas???

Recommended Posts

I was a long time Cabela's fan until they went public. Now it's just MSRP on everything with less customer support than the old days. Thank goodness Sportsman's Warehouse came to Lakeside. Between them and Amazon and MidwayUSA, I have no use for Cabela's or Bass Pro. I think the major stockholders are responding to their inability to compete online and the expense of those stores.

Sportsman's Warehouse over both of them. Sucks though because Bass Pro is worse then cabelas. Worse pricing worse products.

Scheils or whatever up north is better then both of them for sure. The had 1 in ND when I spent some time up there.

I prefer Sportsman's i can USUALLY afford their SALE prices.

ME THINKS JUST THE RICH FOLK CAN AFFORD HUNT CLOTHES FROM CABELA'S.

Bass Pro just doesn't do it for me for some reason. The takeover is last thing i would have expected to hear about.

Who knows maybe they will turn Bass pro into a fishing store, while cabelas turns into more of a hunting store.dontknow.gif

Some of the stores are pretty close together. dontknow.gif

there still both blood sports though. Right. Kinda weird thinking of hunting and fishing of a blood sport.

So is buying meat at Albertson's. You are just paying another person to get bloody.

Do your best to find a local place to support and pay a little more to keep a little more in your local economy.

I have used this philosophy for many years and I understand I pay more for products but if I can get some business from them in my place of business/ employment it is paid back and then some.

Before you know it it will all be china junk like Walmart that lets you down when you need it most.

Both no bueno, shop Sportmans Warehouse!!!

Yep, that's my take on it. I will shop at Sportsman's Warehouse over Cabelas and Bass Pro any day. Everything is always overpriced at those two places. I've brought very few things at Cabelas and nothing that I can remember at Bass Pro, mainly due to pricing.
