15's or 12x50 and spotting scope?

WTF did I just read.... So the Swarovski was tremendously better in all aspects especially out past a mile.....So much better in fact that even when you knew where to look you could not find the elk with the vortex....And your buddy is thinking about going with the vortex....I think I'm going to go slam my head in the door several times maybe it will make more sense

When you say that you could use a spotting scope in some situations what exactly do you mean by this? Would you be using the spotter to glass with or just to get a closer look at things you already found in your binos?

Some people can glass with a spotter but most feel like their eye is going to explode and get a headache after a few hours.

keep the Swaro 15's, I have the Vortex Razor and it spends the bulk of it's time in my pack because everyone needs and extra 5 lbs in their pack. I can tell most of the time with my 15's whether it is a buck, especially with good bucks. It comes out when I see something that I think is a deer bedded but just can see enough detail under the tree to be positive. Out of my pack for 5 mins then back in my pack. If I have a long walk planned for the day the spotter stays in the truck.

I have duovids and a spotter. I'd love to sell the duovids and get the 12x els, I'll keep the spotter either way.

Not to derail the thread but what setting do you use the duovids on the most?

I use them on 10X A BUNCH, the ONLY down fall of these great binos is the FOV on 15x, sucks.

Thank you guys for all your input. After hunting the weekend next to my buddy that has the kaibabs I will be keeping my swarovski 15's. I was able to start glassing earlier than him in the morning and later in the evening. I was also able to make out antlers at longer distance's but still couldn't tell how good the buck was till I closed the gap a little witch in normal at the distances we were able to glass. Guess I'll keep saving for a good spotter!

OK now that I have decided to stay with the swaro 15's what spotting scope would compliment them? I have limited experience with spotting scopes or at least good ones. Would a 80mm scope work better or would a 65mm I believe it is do just fine?
