broadheads you guys are shooting?

Recommended Posts

guys, wonderin what broadheads you shoot for coues? I m shooting Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain broadheads right now. however, i am looking at a few different ones: the Wac em XL's, and shuttle T locks. what are you guys shooting?

I have had good luck shooting my muzzies to the same place as my fieldtips. I didnt do as much shooting with them as i should have, but i shot at 20, 30, 40 and 50 one shot ech, and all were in the black of my block.

75g 3-blade Muzzy for my compound.

I'd stick with the Muzzy if I were you (why fix it if it ain't broke?), my father-in-law tried shooting the Rage broadheads this spring and has had all kinds of headaches with them in his foam quiver deploying, etc...

I have heard about the rage broad heads deploying in the quiver.

Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain. Put a cow elk down, hit in the liver, in about 15 min, went about a total of about 5 yards. Convinced me to stick with them. I do have a friend that loves his min-max 3 and if I went mechenical I'd give them a try.

I shoot Thunderhead 100's, I have taken a few critters with them and have never had a problem. But as stated above "why fix it if it ain't broke?" If your Muzzy's are shootin good for you leave it alone, you could be inviting some unwanted frustration.

I shoot Spitfire XP mechanical broadheads and have excellent results.

If the muzzy's are flying good I'd probably stick with them. I would give the Shuttle T Locks a try also, they seem to be one of the top broadheads out right now...

I do believe when we were hunting in december you were telling us about all your MISSES at coues... including one at like 5 yards i believe. Am I correct on this? maybe you would like to share with the class (smartass!)

I wanted to shoot something smaller and that would fly excellent out past 60 yards. I decided to shoot the tekan II's. After one season shooting them I decided that I didnt' like having to check everytime I took one out of the quiver if it had "deployed" a little. That was one extra step I didn't like. I now shoot the G5 striker for everything. Shoots straight, knock off of the wac em, but 4x as sharp as the wac em. I shoot them out to 60 and they fly great.

I've used the Spitfires for a long while with great results. Kinda like you I got an itch to try something new this year so I got some of those new NAP Hellrazors. I haven't shot them yet, but they are scary sharp out of the package. I'm going to shoot them this weekend and post my results on here or Archery Talk. (I see you're on there Casey, I'm Coues Sniper on that board.)

Then slap one of those naked chick silhouette stickers on your quiver hood & stick with the BH’s that work.

I shoot the NAP Nitron 100s & have had no trouble getting them to group w/ field points.
