AverageJoe Report post Posted November 3, 2015 Why is the local pissed? Does he get his jollies off of other people getting busted by the fuzz?
bonecollector Report post Posted November 3, 2015 Happens a lot actually. If Hunter turns self in, the result is the same in most cases. GW takes deer and tag and let's Hunter go.
Str8Shot Report post Posted November 3, 2015 While there is no good excuse for a hunter taking the wrong species, I do not see why the local would be pissed. With his assistance things with G&F were handled right and the hunter hopefully learned a lesson... Does the local feel that every mistake should be a citation? I do hope the G&F officer had the hunter surrender his tag
trphyhntr Report post Posted November 3, 2015 I saw a dead Muley with a bullet hole when I was on my coues deer hunt the other week. I also saw some dudes that appeared to have shot a doe then blasted it's skull cap off to try and make it look like a buck.
PRDATR Report post Posted November 3, 2015 Seems fair to me. Sometimes mistakes happen.
rossislider Report post Posted November 3, 2015 Hunter is a bit of a moron who needs to do some homework/research. Otherwise, I don't have a big problem with the action taken by the warden.
elkaholic Report post Posted November 3, 2015 if you lived in the area and know all the problems that can involve unethical and illegal practices by hunters and others yr in and yr out- one might appreciate seeing a citation or 2 handed out .

Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted November 3, 2015 We are never happy......one guy get cited for driving through the wrong unit with a bow in the front of his truck while another just gets a verbal warning for shooting wrong specie. Then there is that one guy who leaves his tag behind to be put on a bull that might be dead......... It happens and usually we are frustrated with inconsistent application of the law. If you have been tested by the inconsistent application of the law you tend to get more pissed off than the average joe.

W.O.T Report post Posted November 3, 2015 thanks to the local for helping hunter locate and educate hunter on deer id good for local to step up and allow hunter to make his own ethical decisions local needs to look up definition of mercy and Karma...(guess he never made any mistakes) why was the local waiting around to see what happened? sounds like those kinds of people that rubberneck at a car accident resulting in a huge A mile long backup of cars you know the hunter was crappin his pants, just waiting to go to prison by the GW
ready2hunt Report post Posted November 3, 2015 according to this story there is a lot to be learned here. Assuming it was an unintentional mistake- I don't understand the need some people have to see others suffer for their mistakes?? Since when does a citation dictate an end-all cure to the situation. Sounds like the local needs to relax and start worrying about his own issues and not others. Why does this local need any sort of satisfaction other than doing the right thing- which it sounds like he did. Props to the GW for taking the deer and HOPEFULLY donating it as food to those who could use it. In high school I broke a law at a party and was given a warning after being arrested- never broke that law again. - No citation was necessary- lesson learned. Doesn't work for everyone but hey that's life.
