jamaro Report post Posted July 11, 2007 Hey Guys... I am posting this in a few places so if it looks familiar... Sorry, but I want to get as much input as possible... Hey Everybody... Let me paint the picture... Last weekend our local club had there annual 2-day shoot... As usual they did a good job... My only problem is that wanted to flight EVERYBODY... Kids and adults... I understand why they do it, to keep cheating down... The issue I had is that they had no non-competitive divisions and the minors had to be escorted. So, if you were a parent you couldn't shoot during the second day because you had to escort your child. I don't know how they would have handled it if you had 3 kids and they were in different flights... To compound the issue there were only 2.5 courses... The .5 was the only course you could shoot non-competitively on Sat. On Sunday we snuck on the competitive course with the kids and had fun... Oh, and i almost forgot if the parent wanted to shoot competitive the kids could follow them in the adult flight and shoot with them... That just seemed like asking for trouble some of the "Pro's" want DEAD SILENCE when they are shooting... The thing that bugs me is that these shoots used to be ALOT of fun and a family event. This year it was just tooooo serious. Although we have not brought anything up to the club because we want to get our ducks lined up first, I would like some ideas... What would you like to see in a kids shoot? Number of Targets? Any Game Ideas? Prizes? Should they be the same times than the adult shoots? Any advise would be great!!!! These kids are our future.... and we need to get them involved.. Jason
