azcouesandelk Report post Posted July 10, 2007 Come on out everybody on Thursday night at 7 P.M. and have some fun with a little competition. Bownut has been putting this on every Thursday for the past couple months and we need more people out there. It is a $10 buy in on top of the $5 entry fee and I am sure Bownut will chime in and tell you all what it is for. It is also a good way to get ready for judging yardages and just practicing flinging some arrows. Shoot me a P.M. if you have any other questions.
BowNut Report post Posted July 10, 2007 Come on out it's great practice for those After Dark Shots In The Spot Light!!!!!!! Did I just say that?????? I hope G&F does not monitor this Forum or I will never get another tag! No really this is a lot of fun we have done this every summer for a few years. It is a good way for us to raise money during the summer to buy new targets for the next years 3d shoots. Also the top three teams(blind draw) at the end of the night even get to leave with a couple buck back. We do a blind draw at the end of every night so you could be drawn with the best or the worst shooter that night. That could make you a hero or a zero! Its mostly about being there and meeting and shooting with some old and some new friends. It will get really good when the monsoons start to kick in and the wind.dust then rain roll in while we are shooting. The scores drop and the lighning flashes YEEHAAAW!!!!!!!! grizzly Report post Posted July 10, 2007 How many of the 3D targets are set up? I have been up there the last 3 weeks but havent walked the course because I could see at least one of the stations and it didnt look like it had a target. I should be in for Thursday, look for the big red Dodge with plumbing pipe hanging out the back.

The last time I was out there I saw about 4 that would stop an arrow. I know they have new targets in the works but I think it will be a while before they will get them and get them out. grizzly Report post Posted July 11, 2007 so how does the shoot work? If there are only 5 targets do you shoot each target only once? That shouldnt take long, dont know if that is worth paying $10 for though.
BowNut Report post Posted July 11, 2007 You shoot each target twice. The first time through you shoot the #1 target from the #1 stake #2 target from #2 and so on for 10 shots 2 at each. Then you shoot across #5 target is shot from the #1 stake #4 is shot from #2 stake and so on. 10 more shots 2 at each. Sometimes it seems to go by fast it kinda depends on the number of peaple. I am thinking about put orange dots on the 12s next week so younghunter can have somthing to aim at in the dark.

I dont think lights or wrapped sights should be allowed from now on that is an unfair advantage. And I was doing just fine finding that 12 ring last thursday
