1worthlessnut Report post Posted October 19, 2015 I rescued this bird from our Halloween webs. Can someone please tell me what kind of bird it is. Hopefully its not rare or endangered and will end up outlawing spiderwebs for Halloween. Thanks Ken
CouesPursuit Report post Posted October 19, 2015 I could be wrong but looks like a species of Nightjar to me. Tough to see a scale in the photo, but if it was smaller bird it could be a Common Poorwill (Phalaenoptilus nuttallii).
1worthlessnut Report post Posted October 19, 2015 It was just a bit smaller than a white wing dove.
CouesPursuit Report post Posted October 19, 2015 A Lesser Nighthawk is another (bigger) candidate, but you can typically see white on their wings.
