Mike S Report post Posted October 20, 2015 Thanks, never considered the scope cover idea. Would easily pay for itself in a fall...

MMACFIVE Report post Posted November 19, 2015 This may be stating the obvious but the standard CDS turret as is comes is MOA. Once you have one cut for a particular load you can still count the clicks and use it as MOA if you want.
AZBob Report post Posted November 20, 2015 If you're wanting to try a CDS model, you might consider the deal Cabela's is offering right now on their VX2 3-9x40 CDS model for $249. Pretty good deal!
MT_Sourdough Report post Posted December 3, 2015 If you're wanting to try a CDS model, you might consider the deal Cabela's is offering right now on their VX2 3-9x40 CDS model for $249. Pretty good deal! I ordered that Cabelas VX2 3-9x40 CD deal for my 30-06. Then, for my new 300 Win, I ordered a VX3 4.5x14, windplex and CDS from Optics Planet on Black Friday. The deal was 11% off, free shipping, zero tax plus $100 rebate from Leupold. When all is said and done, I will have paid a total of $434 for the scope. Leupold will cut a free custom cap for each scope. I am going to develop a load for the 300 win mag using a super high bc and heavy bullet to minimize wind deflection. For my 30-06, it's easy - 165 SST, .447 bc, 2880fps mv, temp 50, el. 5,000ft, 100 yard zero. Over time, I'll probably have a couple more caps cut for other loads for my 30-06.
