Questions on wildcats.

More info will probably net you more accurate and more answers.

Are you talking .22-50bmg or 5.45x700 nitro?

Wildcats are cool in my book, what are you thinking?

Do it. I have always wanted to build a 6.5-06. I know it can be done and would be a sweet rifle.

I would call PTG or JGS if you have dimensions or a concept and they can make it. I would call and talk to them however, most likely there is already a reamer that has been made for your wildcat.

I know 6.5-06 has already been built which should be basically what you are talking about building so the reamer already exists. It would be finding 1 especially in ackley improved.

I have not delved into building mine much yet, but it has always been on my wish list when I actually can build a rifle.

6.5-06 is easily done. your can probably find everything you need on midway. Keep in mind though that the 6.5-06 and the 6.5-284 are ballistically identical, so close that even load data can be interchanged between the two. Given the popularity of the 6.5-284 it may prove easier and possibly cheaper to go that route.

I'm not going 6.5-06 But close. Trying to build it on the 270 ackley improved.

I am a HUGE wildcat fan, however I would do plenty of research before having a reamer and dies made. There is likely already a wildcat with the parent case or specs similar. I would go to accurateshooter.com and ask around. I would put money that what you are trying to do has already been done, or there is a reason why it has not been done. I am all for innovation however!
