Smith2260 Report post Posted October 15, 2015 Thank you so much for all of the replies. I already built a chain link kennel for them. But I don't like to see them cooped up in there. I can't stand to see them chained to a tree any longer. I have over an acre of pasture that would be unrealistic to raise the 2" pipe 2-3 feet. I bought the electric fence and buried it. He learned where it was and jumped over it anyways. I have tied dead chickens to their neck and they ate every last feather. I put dead chickens in their kennel and they looked at me like I was rewarding them. I did the shock collar with diversion training. That worked the best for about a month or so and then my kids came home from school one day to 18 dead chickens and 4 dead turkeys and the neighbor said they were also in her yard. I have been very gracious to sell puppies on here very inexpensive because I know they will be loved and taken care of. If my dogs get out again, they will belong to the county. If that makes me a bad person to look for a good home before that happens then I am sorry. I have been trying to tackle this on my own for over a year. And since the letter from the county came I have been afraid my dogs would be gone every time I come home. We have other labs that don't eat our chickens or get in the neighbors yard, so my kids are very understanding. Please help me find a good home for my dogs.
AverageJoe Report post Posted October 15, 2015 some people can get too worked up over dogs. You are doing the right thing finding them a new home. Some people would just take them out to the desert and put a bullet in them. Hope you find a good home
Antmo23 Report post Posted October 15, 2015 Male or female? and are they fixed?
Smith2260 Report post Posted October 15, 2015 They are not fixed. The black one is a male. The yellow is a female. Their moms were pure breed yellow labs. We think the black one's dad is a big black lab male across the street and we think the yellow is mixed with a German shepherd.
lonne Report post Posted October 16, 2015 My niece is a dog lover, and an absolute an expert at getting good dogs good homes - her company finds dogs homes. She got us our dog and he is great with kids, most well behaved dog I've ever met. As well as many other people. Please private message me your email address, I'll have her contact you, and hopefully we'll be able to figure something out. I've sent her this post and she thinks she can help but she has a few questions. They look like good dogs. Me being her uncle, I don't want to give her number out. She will contact you. Thanks!
