Tough buck.

Recommended Posts

So it started when my son drew this multiple unit hunt. We started scouting around August. We have covered our area with trail cam. We had lots of bucks on camera but nothing bigger than a fork horn. Every trip out we would pick up bucks. We seen some good bucks that got his blood pumping. So with him making varsity football he has Friday morning to hunt then be back in town by 2 to catch the bus to the game. So we head to a gassing point we have been seeing a big buck and a group of smaller bucks. We made it to the top to glass about 20 min to early . Setting in the dark waiting to be light enough to glass. He says first 3 point we see I am dumping him. I told him it's up to you we got 3 days. Sun comes up I pick up a 3 point. I keep it to my self bubba picked him up also we look at each other and give the finger over lips to not tell him.then about 15 min later he says dad I got a buck and I think he is a shooter. So Bubba tim and I listen as he guide us in to the buck. I told him he is a 3 x 3 witch is the same buck we had already seen . So now the hill looks like ants we are on moving all over trying to get him set up for a shot.He gets set up on him I range him 326 put it right on him shoots buck mule kicks. But we can't see blood shoot again doom hits it in front leg. He walked for word about 30 yards shoots him again this time he dropped. High 5 go around then I look back over ad he is back up. Dylan is back to the gun he says all I see is butt and antlers. We laughed well in between pull the trigger. Shoots again buck dropped for good this time. We get over to him 2 shots in rib cage and last on in the neck. We get him quartered up loaded in packs and off to the bike. Sorry for long read but hope you enjoy it as I did. Thanks to tim and Bubba for helping us out today
