Evan Report post Posted October 2, 2015 My brother and I had a successful muzzleloader hunt this past weekend. We waited a long time for this tag! We made it up to camp Thursday before the opener and immediately heard the bulls bugling that afternoon and trough the night. Had a chance on a nice bull friday morning came in quickly to calls, but winded us before I could make a shot. We had some better set up Friday afternoon with the wind in our face, located a bull and began calling, and my bull came in on a sting from about 800 yards out and I made my shot at about 15-20 feet! He came in screaming and drooling the whole way. He dropped in his tracks. After getting a closer look at him we found and antler from another bull broken off in the back of his neck buried over an inch and a half deep. Crazy tough animals. Had some good pictures of this guy before the hunt, this one is my favorite! My brother got a chance at his bull Sunday evening, after playing cat and mouse with a few bulls, we were able to call his in, again another 15-20 shot and he also dropped in his tracks. Fun packing his bull out under a blood moon! Unbelievable hunt, had a blast, and a huge thanks to my brother in law for coming up to give us a hand packing out these guys! Can't wait for the next elk hunt hopefully sooner than later! Time to focus on coues now in a few weeks!

.270 Report post Posted October 2, 2015 Great story. Many years ago we had a bull in camp with a tine in the back of its head. Ended up the tine was off a bull a friends wife had shot the same day. Good job. Lark.
WampusCat Report post Posted October 2, 2015 Very cool story and pics! Thank for sharing. I am imagining that bull all fired up at 20 ft when your smoke wagon went off and then waiting for the cloud to clear and seeing him laying there.
