In reality it's just a preference but it seems like most people prefer Polaris! I prefer them as well very comfy for the long drives

I don't know a ton about them, but I do know Hondas run. My wife's grandfather road one basically every day for 20+ years on his ranch to get around. It was his horse after he retired his horse. She remembers riding it as a kid and it is still in service today with her uncle.

The quad was used when he got it and he probably road half way around the world on it.

I think I've had all the major brands at one time or another. IMO Polaris is the way to go if you want big, powerful, bells & whistles, etc. If your want super reliable and will run forever, you can't beat Honda. Both are great machines.

I've had two Arctic Cat 500's for 10 years now...bought new. They are great machines. They ride great. Only issues were minor mechanical I could fix myself. I bought them because, at the time, they had the highest ground clearance and suspension travel, and most fuel capacity. They have a full locking front diff that I've rarely had to use. My wife and I have really enjoyed them. Hauled a lot of game on them.

I am debating selling them to get a side x side due to wife's physical issues.

I would say, with today's technology/quality, any of the major brands would be good...just get full independent suspension, 4x4, and at least 500cc. Fuel injection is nice, but not necessary up to around 8,000 feet....at least I haven't had any trouble with mine anywhere in AZ.

in my view all the major OEMs are making solid quads nowadays. aside from features it'll boil down to what you like...same debate as ford, gm, dodge, etc.

focus more on features instead. the main ones in my mind is: at least 450cc, independent rear suspension (for smoother ride), fuel injection, 4WD, a Low and High Gear (to pull an elk out if you have to...), power steering (not a must have but from what i hear an awesome feature)

Honda. I have a 1982 Honda Big Red 3 wheeler that we bought new and it is still going strong. We have 2 - 2003 Honda Foreman's that are going strong and neither one has ever been back to the Honda dealer for anything. I don't know if they will ever quit running. My boy bought a new Honda Rincon this year and that is a lazy mans atv ...easy, easy steering, great ride. Get what you want but for me it's Honda !!
