ghost hunter Report post Posted September 28, 2015 I bought a home made (yet good quality) dehydrator back about 30 years ago. Two years ago, it quit. What quit was the adjustable heating element. It is a brown cone shaped affair with wires wrapped around it. They look like the inside of a toaster. This unit screws into a light socket. When I try and explain my dilemma or show someone the heating element, all I get is dumb stares and "I have no idea". I really had no expectation that I could/would find an exact replacement, but thought someone could/would be able to point me at a 21st century replacement. So...anyone have a 'best guess' at what a new replacement heating element is called/can be found? Thanks in advance.

SWDesertRat Report post Posted September 28, 2015 Pretty sure you're talking about a ceramic cone with heating elements on it. Something like this? http://www.processheating.com/index.php?page=Coneheater2 Post a pic, it might help
ghost hunter Report post Posted September 29, 2015 SW, I think you posted the pix for me. Thank you. I've look everywhere I could think of. After I get my heating element out, I'm gonna give them a call. GH
