CouesFanatic Report post Posted September 26, 2015 It wasn't just a few kernels of corn. This was completely obvious and a lot of it. And yes I reported the guy carrying jugs of bait. Who I was later told was caught dumping with in 25yrds of his stand he had set. I'm sure he wasn't doing anything wrong and was ticketed for being innocent. If you condone baiting or breaking the law that's fine. I however have chosen not to. Best of luck to anyone not baiting. Baiting for game is not illegal. Baiting for big game is illegal. If there are cows or other livestock in the area when it is put out it is not "baiting" from what I read. So just make sure there are cows or livestock in the area and you are perfectly legal.

My understand of " placed during the course of livestock or agricultural operations" is that if I'm a rancher I can drop feed for my livestock and anyone can hunt over it. However, just because somebody else is running cattle in an area that doesn't mean everyone in the woods can throw down some corn. They are not a part of the "livestock or agricultural operation". But I'm a machinist, not a lawyer, so what do I know. You may be able to twist that sentence into meaning that it's ok to face shoot fawns while using a spot light at midnight in the parking lot of Applebees if you try hard enough.
AZLance Report post Posted September 27, 2015 Why it's illegal to bait game like it's been done since the beginning of time, I'll never know.Because we don't hunt with stones and spears anymore, that's why. I do
