IHunt2live Report post Posted June 28, 2007 Haven't herd much about the shoot from anyone so I thought I would ask if anyone was going. I wasn't able to make it to the Bowhunter happening and it has been a few years sence I've been to a shoot so I'm excited for this weekend. A friend had an old bow he let me barrow and I got it set up for my wife so I think she might try a corse or two. Should be a good time in a bit cooler weather. Maybe I'll see a few of you there. CouesWhitetail Report post Posted June 28, 2007 I won't be there for the shoot, but I am going fishing at sunrise on Thurs/friday. Anyone coming up on Thurs? We will probably be leaving by noon on Friday. I will be leaving in a few mins to do some owl work and then heading to Sunrise directly from there. So I won't be back to check this thread. If anyone is going to be there thurs afternoon/fri morning and wants to get together to say howdy. Call my cell 928-200-0544. I will be at the sunrise campground. You can always just look for the maroon jeep with the CouesWhitetail.com sticker on it too. Amanda

Red Rabbit Report post Posted June 28, 2007 For those heading up there, a small area northeast of the rez, NF, and 260 junction is closed to camping due to wolf pups. Also remember that 273 is barricaded at the NF boundary going from Sunrise to Big Lake. The wolf closure area with map and fire restictions are now posted on the Apache-Sitgreaves website. http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/asnf/news/2007/200...trictions.shtml "An area near Greens Peak on the Springerville Ranger District that is adjacent to Forest Road (FR)117 and is bordered by Highway 260, FR 117A, FR 117C, FR 8526, and FR 8577. FR 117 is open. This closed area is called the Beehive Spring Wildlife Closure and it should re-open in mid-July"
IHunt2live Report post Posted July 3, 2007 My wife and I had a blast. She was not as excited as I was to go but she had a lot more fun then she thought she would. It was a great introdution to the sport for her. I had her shooting at 20 and 30 yards and except for 2 courses she scored over 100. I was pleased how I shot as well. I'm pumped for the early archery deer season. I didn't get to introduce myself to anyone we were pretty busy shooting all 6 course fri. and sat. I did see a sticker on a 90ish ford F150 extended cab. Hope all of you who went had a good time. It was sure nice to get out of the heat for a few days.
