PelaPapas Report post Posted September 16, 2015 I know these two models shouldn't even be in the same category (so I've heard!). I have looked through Kaibab 15s and enjoyed them. Now that I am in the market for some used Kaibabs, I've also considered the Vulture 15s. I would like to hear from those who have looked through both models and to see if the extra $$$ the Kaibab's go for is worth it? Any input from owners of Kaibab and Vulture 15s is appreciated, thanks!
reezenhunter Report post Posted September 17, 2015 What most people will say is you lose some edge clarity but I glassed up alot of deer with vultures
bigj23 Report post Posted September 17, 2015 I have some and reezenhunter hit it on the spot. I have glassed a lot with my Vultures and also looked through the Kaibabs. I would not pay the extra money for the Kaibabs. I am happy with the Vultures and I have used them for a year now in different terrain. My next step will be Swarovski 15x56 HD as I don't think u will get much more out of the mid-level glass. Hope this helps.
goinhuntn Report post Posted September 17, 2015 I have the Vultures & are very happy with them! I looked thru both the Kaibabs & the Vultures didn't like the eye piece on the Kaibabs they felt awkward to me. The Vultures fit my eyes better & I couldn't tell $700.00 difference in the glass. The Vultures work for me & my budget.
dk-1 Report post Posted September 18, 2015 The major differences between the two (and I have tested both) are: edge to edge clarity and resolution is better in the Kaibaibs, the Kaibabs will filter out stray light better, handle CA better, and have better low light performance than the Vultures. When I tested the Vultures my eyes were difficult to focus after removing my eyes from them as well as when I initially got behind them. This to me is a sign that they will create headaches after long glassing sessions. It may have been contained to that specific pair I was testing, but I wasn't willing to take the chance. On a side note to PelaPapas; I did sell my Kaibabs last night on eBay, so I'm not trying to give you a sales pitch here. Pick up the Kaibabs and don't look back, they are good glass and you will have no reason to upgrade from there unless you have glass OCD like me!
