poisonarrow Report post Posted September 14, 2015 Spotted 5 bucks as they were making their way down a fenceline. Snuck over to where I thought they'd come down through. I set up the Poison Arrow Doe Decoy on my bow quickly. As they came within range of about 20 yards I slowly stood up and drew back. To my suprise they didn't see me draw back as the decoy acted like a small "blind" for me. The buck that I shot came within 5 yards of me and looked right at the decoy. I had about 5 seconds of time to focus on aiming right behind the deers shoulder as he was so focused on the decoy...smoked 2015 buck! This is one story of using my decoy on mule deer.

backcountry_brad Report post Posted September 14, 2015 How much do those decoys cost? I'm thinkin about gettin one for my late archery bull hunt
carpcody Report post Posted September 14, 2015 That's a nice deer, I'm going to give that decoy some thought. You shot that deer in January?
mattys281 Report post Posted September 14, 2015 How much do those decoys cost? I'm thinkin about gettin one for my late archery bull hunt $59. I'll be getting one of the deer ones, just not sure if muley doe or coues buck. That coues buck may intimidate smaller bucks, so probably stick with the doe one. lancetkenyon Report post Posted September 14, 2015 That's a nice deer, I'm going to give that decoy some thought. You shot that deer in January? I thought the same thing, since it is hard antlered and not in velvet. Pretty cool trick.
