corkin it Report post Posted September 8, 2015 My son Zach killed a nice bull on Saturday after football practice. Hit the field around 3:30. It was super warm.....93. Didnt glass an oryx until 6:00 PM. Once we saw the first one they were popping up everywhere. He passed on 2 sub adults and a cow with a brownie. The cow was very thin in the hips due to nursing Im assuming. Would have been a 435 yard shot so we decided to pass for a number of reasons. She was with 2 other broken horn animals. Glassed up a beautiful 4x4 mulie in velvet. Around 7:00 we glasssed 2 bulls. Zach decided to go after them and made a nice 130 yard shot on this animal. The other bull had a sway horn but still big bodied. Really happy for him. Spent the weekend butchering and packaging the meat. Had the tender loins last night with some wild rice. LIKE BUTTER!!!!!!! Its his senior year and man has it started out great for him. He has a tag for NM coues in November in the burros. cant wait!! Good luck to everyone on their hunts.
