shortpants Report post Posted June 23, 2007 I just learned yesterday that my cousin was shot in the groin while serving in Iraq. He underwent surgery but they left the bullet inside him. He was stable enough to call his sister and tell her he loved her so hopefully things will turn out O.K. They are transporting him to Germany and from there he'll be sent back to the U.S. I can't wait to tell him in person thankyou for his sacrifice.
105Coues Report post Posted June 24, 2007 My family sends care packages to soldiers in Irag and Afganistan when we get names of soldiers over there. It is a way to teach our young children to respect the soldiers of this country. Our kids write thank you letters and we enclose them with ours. I can testify to the fact it is hard for these soldiers to be away from their families and that every reminder they have of home means a great deal, regardless of who it comes from. I encourage you all to send something to a soldier over there. Even everyday things we take for granted mean a lot. Also, if any of you have family or friends and don't mind giving up their address, shoot me a PM.
