duckhunter175 Report post Posted August 27, 2015 Hayen-- I've used them in KY and NC hunting whitetails. I haven't seen the scent bombs work with the exception of the Buck Bomb (doe in estrous). Same thing with their attractants. Where it is legal you are better off with corn, normal salt blocks, OR my personal favorite, Deer Cane. Not a big fan of the Busbice's or most of their products. rossislider Report post Posted August 27, 2015 You can use natural salt licks in AZ, but that's about it. I noticed the Walmart in Tempe next to Bass Pro with a big pallet of deer attractant corn yesterday. I'm assuming the person in charge of ordering for this particular Walmart isn't familiar with the local laws, or a lot of people may still be baiting? Make sure you know the laws before you go out so you don't get yourself in trouble!
HaYen Report post Posted August 28, 2015 They are illegal in az. 'Nuff said Actully, the ones I quoted aren't illegal. I checked with the game and fish manager in the area I'm going to hunt. There is no estrus (pee) in them and they mist / fog the air. They aren't a product you can spread on the ground. Here is a link to the rule: http://www.azgfd.gov/inside_azgfd/rules/rulemaking_baitingProhibit.shtml Notice the allowed list has: Scent lures provided they do not contain cervid urine Chemical attractants provided they are not ingestible I was told by G&F that I could use an attractant that contains estrus but it had to be on a wafer or cotton strip attached to my hat or shirt. The thought was the deer was going to eat my hat or shirt. AND if they got that close without being shot, I had no business hunting lol. I was told ranchers could put down salt but not me. I can grow a food plot of corn butI can't spread corn on the ground. So anyone else use these products?
