Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted August 26, 2015 Just got the news my 97 Tacoma has 10% compression in #2 hole. 300,000 miles on it! Looking for a motor and somebody that has the skill to put it in my truck. Two weeks away from my elk hunt and now no truck.........aw well, I still have a tag, I can't complain!!! Got a quote from a dealer.....$4880.00 plus or minus $200.00, I can buy a used Tacoma for that much with less miles on it!!! Maybe I will just do that....... Ringer Report post Posted August 26, 2015 I have a friend that is buying a 2016 when it comes out. He has a 2002 with stick shift. Has I think 220000 on it but he does keep up with all maintenance and has the oil changed every 3000. He is also an old lady and drives like it. He will be selling his rig in a month or so. cactusjack Report post Posted August 26, 2015 we put one in my son's 2002 Tacoma that we bought from a salvage in Phoenix. (Riteway Auto parts) It had 100k on it and cost us 1200. We put it in.
