Treestandman and I both drew rifle antelope tags. I just hope we get assigned to a good ranch.

I've drawn my yearly goose egg for NM.. 0 on oryx back in Feb and now another 0 for my ibex tag.. that makes 8 goose eggs I have in the ibex dept.. maybe before heck freezes over I'll get that tag..

Be careful with those Ibex tags.... I think the game and fish bumped the number up to 100 for bowhunters... BUT I only know of one EVER KILLED... that would be an expensive NR mistake... I think the tag is over $1000.00

naw Jason.. I don't think the wool will ever be pulled over my eyes on that one.. Bowhunting is for the birds.. I'll stick to rifles and smokepoles to hunt my billies, thank you very much!! ;)

You might as well try and kill one with a pocket knife in those mountains!!

My brother in law drew the archery Ibex tag last year and killed the #3 ranked archery billy on opening day. I have another friend that has taken two with his bow. Man that country is steep! But other than the country and the $$$$, I think Coues are harder with a bow as far as smart animals.

He drew the same tag again this year so we will let you know how it goes.

Guest AZ>NMcouesaddict

First of all, I think you AZ boys need to talk to your G&F and let them know to open up their non-resident quotas to us NM boys. Seems only fair being that over 50% of you with NM tags are from AZ. Actually I can't complain, before I left AZ I purchased the lifetime license which puts me in the drawing with you residents (Tell them thanks for the 27 bull tag). I drew the first coues hunt in 23, hopefully them big boys will be out again. Seen some good ones on the second hunt last year. Looks like this year's hunt will be the same as this year's turkey hunt. My NM truck surrounded by AZ trucks. Good luck to all. Oh yeah, there isn't a single coues in the pine country, you all better stick to the desert lands this year. J/K

I have a question. What are the dates of the first rifle season for coues in 23? I drew the tag but can't remember what the dates are. And the website is still only giving the draw info. Looks like there are several of the guys from here that will be hunting the same hunt. Good luck.
