AZ8 Report post Posted August 22, 2015 I always purchase my archery deer tags at the Regional office in Mesa. Always. Except this one time. Until this week I wasn't sure I would be able to go out for archery deer, so never purchased my tag. So I finally have a small window to give it go. Work, family and other obligations all lined up. So Friday I go into a local merchant across the street from my job. (26 miles from home) All is well, pay my $45, take a look at the tag, check name, address, license number, etc., and out the door. So I get my gear ready and grab my tag, only then do I notice the glaring mistake! My heart sank. Check out the pics. The goofball punched the wrong species, but correctly listed resident deer! Im not one to take chances, so I decided to stay home. Totally bummed. What do you guys think? I believe this tag is now invalid.

Flatlander Report post Posted August 22, 2015 I think the merchant or azhfd would fix it for you. You can buy a replacement tag for $3 so worst case scenario you could say you lost it.
Matt Meyer Report post Posted August 22, 2015 For $3, I would just replace it. I wouldn't take the chance

sherman Report post Posted August 23, 2015 I stopped going anywhere besides g&f for almost the same reason they put my address wrong and my dyslexia kicked in and I didn't notice it
rossislider Report post Posted August 23, 2015 Rather than a bear tag, one of these stores wrote down "beer" on my tag. Could tell where his mind was.

shanehamblin Report post Posted August 23, 2015 Looks like a 2 for 1. Could've been hunting deer and bear with one tag.
TonyC Report post Posted August 23, 2015 Looks like a 2 for 1. Could've been hunting deer and bear with one tag. Ha! Wouldn't that be nice? Anyway.. like the others stated it's probably best just to pay the $3.00 and get a new one.
hoghntr Report post Posted August 23, 2015 A duplicate tag is just that it's a duplicate of what you already have. Duplicate is not the answer you have to go back to the store and have to cancel it out which they're not going to like because I believe they have to pay for it. But ultimately you're the hunter so it's your responsibility to have the correct paperwork and tags so believe you me G&F would give you a ticket
ThomC Report post Posted August 23, 2015 It clearly says deer and if you have a receipt for $45 only an Adam Henry would give you a ticket because they all know that Walmart people are stupid. You do have to go back to Walmart to fixit.
