How much $$$ to find one?

Recommended Posts

Guides license would be needed because your making money off wild game, its just like being there, right fully you need one pack out a game animals if you receive money. Sorry not trying to be that guy

Nothing wrong with knowing the proper way .. personally I have never thought about disclosing locations other than to friends and family anyways... but good to know if that is required to get paid for finding.
spoken from a know it all, a guy would think you'd already know this.

If money changes hands then a license is required. If you want to get technical if you pay for a buddy's gas and food to come help you on a hunt you both could be in trouble. Lots of laws are very vague and encompass a lot, pretty much left up to the officer.

On gov tags if you are working for the finders fee and not associated with the outfitter. You show video, if the hunter likes it then you take em to it, once the kill is made you go away and the outfitter takes the credit and you get paid the agreed apon number.

For couple of years now I have been helping two Wounded Warriors from Cali, scouting, game cam photo's, building blinds/hanging stands, for archery Deer/Bear. FS Leo's have spoken with them and myself a few times about me being a "guide" for them.

Since I accept NOTHING, except our Brotherhood, in return for my efforts, I am NOT a guide/outfitter as defined by AZG&F...

My help to CWT.com members is under the same practice...

Note: after having 3 FS personel question them in their camp two years ago about our relationship, two of them returned the next day and made amends...

wasn't too many years ago that what the high dollar tag guys and their guides are doing now, was illegal. law read that the hunter was supposed to actually be on the hunt. it was mainly so guys couldn't keep a lion in a tree until some rich guy could get there and shoot it. but dragging some softy in where you have an animal pinned down from all angles to shoot it is no different. other than the dogs. when there's lotsa money involved, the laws are easy to ignore. i think if i knew where there was some really huge animal i'd rather either keep it to myself or find some deserving guy with a tag and put them on it. Now thats hunting! Mind = blown

How often does that actually happen?

What's a typical finders fee?

Ya Know.... You guys are Peaches... I mean Cudos for at least starting this up again this time on a separate thread... BUT My God... You guys act like bunch of Beeotchy old women! Here we are again... talking about the commerce, the benefit to wild life and how unfair it is that only 2-3 special guys get to enjoy the benefits of having a state wide tag that generates nearly ALL the $$$$ for Habitat Restoration in this state.

Yes People make money in the woods... People make money off of EVERYONE that goes to the woods... that it Commerce!! It is also part of the model of FREE ENTERPRISE! Yes if you are the Licensed A3 Guide that finds the well known bull in the open, spends hours videoing him, assists in the harvesting of that Bull, YOU GET A BONUS.... (and since I would know... I will interject here... no one out there has more pics or video of the 436" green gross velvet bull recently harvested than the 5, A3 Guides who have been chasing him these last 4-5 years). And if you happen to put 300+ days a year in the woods (and many days away from your own bed & family) like the Licensed A3 Guide who found, videoed, photographed, watched the growth of the Giant 150+ buck just harvested... then yes... you to could collect a Bonus as well.

There is no black magic here.... there is nothing but Pure Dedication, Hard Work, and Sacrifice that produces the biggest animals on the mountain year after year after year.... Yes anyone can have a great year and score big.... anyone can play the game and win on public land, ANYONE.... but those who do it over and over again... well it is because they live it.... and those who are doing that are not reading this... they don't comment, cuz there is not WiFi out there... See, I have a business to run that keeps me closer to my computer than I like... Just as there is something in yall's lives that keep you close to the WiFi... that makes me a part timer who is blessed to run with some of the finest men in the woods. And I will put my money where my mouth is... those guys don't do it for the glory... they do it for the Passion, the Obsession... They miss their wives, they miss their kids... they ride alone... but the Passion keeps them in it... and the money that follows the "One Percenter" well that just fuels gas tanks, buys tires, fixes trashed equipment, puts food in their kids bellies, etc., etc... there is NO getting rich off those checks.

So my question to you guys reading..... DO You Feel Lucky?? Well if you do, Punk (Hahaha) get out there... Find the next 440' bull or the next 260" Mulie or the next 150" Coues... and then YOU can decide if the Juice is worth the squeeze.... Until then you are just talking out your Arse, Hating on a life that you think is more glamorized than it truly is... Cheers and Good hunting.

wondered how long it'd take for somebody to get their feelings hurt. so you're the only guys that "live it"? i guess you're the only guys who can have an opinion too? unless it's the same as your opinion. then it's ok. just don't have one contrary to yours, that's what you're saying isn't it? must be nice to live on a cloud. the internet makes some guys real tough. i can think of a buncha guys on this site that you best not say that crap to their face. we are all hunters and we all have our own opinions and should be welcome to them, no matter what they are. and personally, i take real exception to the derogatory generalizations you've spewed about some good folks. but who am i? what right do i have to have an opnion? now run back and tell your buddies and your rich "hunters" how tough you were on the internet. run along now. Lark.

Thanks for only reading every other line, Lark... you can pull whatever you want out of that if you skip certain parts... I wasn't including myself... or highlighting "Me"... in fact quite the opposite. I wasn't tough either... but if that is all it takes of me to get your panties in a bunch than you'd probably not wanna share time and space with me cuz I am so much better in real life.

Too the original poster I apologize if your question was sincere, it was the direction of the thread that caught my eye. And honestly in my opinion the sky is the limit... it is all about what it is worth to a guy... once upon a time coues were worth nothing... today they are...

someone is always getting paid on a guided hunt and some unguided hunts too

it happens even with governors tag when an animal is taken - especially if it is true "trophy class " animal

It may be a bonus or under the table or whatever - cash or merchandise - that's the way the game is played

you can say some guys are lucky than others or we can just say some are committed to the hunt- which includes scouting - hunting- and dealing with all aspects of harvesting an animal and satisfying a client - including getting it to the final mount.

just like anything in life - you basically get what you pay for - if your cheap - you get cheap and you know it

the rest is up to you .

if you can get paid for information - you probably earned it!

lets just say -- for most guides - for what they get paid - they earned it

It ain't all glamour and glitter !

so grab a camera and hit the woods your big payday is out there

i was just legitimately curious what someone makes when they find these animals, because im guessing someone gets paid. but ok.

dont you dare type anything that "might" insinuate gino. I didnt see one thing that had anything to do with A3. Feeling guilty much?

Screw the finders fee Richard, shoot the big dawg make a replica and sell it to cabellas. That way, the next year, you can hire A3 to kill "there" biggy.
