bonecollector777 Report post Posted August 17, 2015 You can use any type of salt you want. And any salt based product produced for livestock. Nice buck!
drebo1212 Report post Posted August 17, 2015 That's what I interpreted the rule or law as. Its seems to be up for debate I guess.
bonecollector777 Report post Posted August 17, 2015 While taking my guides test last week I specifically asked about that rule. Any salt goes ( rock salt, block salt, table salt, water softener salt,) and then any livestock product that is salt based ( block salt) because other than block salt there is no other product made for livestock that is salt based. Any buck jam, deer cocain, trophy rock etc. Is illegal. Now it's only illegal to hunt over according to law. They tried to claim you couldn't even put it out to get pictures but I think that's crazy. If a random photographer wants to bring in wildlife to take pictures it's not illegal so if a hunter wants to get pictures it shouldn't be illegal either. But if you're caught hunting over it or near it they will give you a ticket. Even if you're not the one that put the product there.
