creed_az_88 Report post Posted August 16, 2015 I'd say the first set of pics is a 100% coues deer doe. The second set of pics is a set of mule deer does with a hybrid doe, most likely offspring from one of the older does in the bunch.

idgaf Report post Posted August 16, 2015 I asked GF biologist that question about the color phased tail. He said tail come in different color phases and they are not mixed with muleys.
mattys281 Report post Posted August 16, 2015 So obviously this pic is of 4 Muleys and a Coues deer correct? At first glance I thought hybrid, but when you zoom in on the pic the facial markings are 100% coues. Looks like a big ole nanny coues doe roaming with muleys. Btw, great pics. You have a real knack for capturing these critters.

Edge Report post Posted August 17, 2015 Pixman, If all those deer had horns, that would be a heavy decision for the whitetail hunter. It's true, Pixman has given us reason to pause and in some cases, dream.
Willyhunts2 Report post Posted August 17, 2015 I have seen the same type of deal in 22, coues doe running with the flop ear. All the deer pogoed besides one that just ran. I got the binos up and it was a coues doe all the way. The first pic looks like a coues to me.
