bowsniper Report post Posted June 18, 2007 I was listening to Anthony Chavez, of the AZ Fish Police, informally talk to a few hunters at the AZ Elk Society Wapiti weekend this last weekend. Someone asked him about the Over the counter Youth Turkey Hunts. He said that it was a "done deal". Gee, I thought that the hunter input meetings were still going on!? As a mater of fact, I was going to the one in Phoenix tonight. I guess that the fish police already know what the hunting public wants, so they don't have to wait for the hunter feedback at the meetings. Is there any point in going to these meeting other than to whine and complain? Don't get me wrong, I have two kids and I'm delighted about this proposal. But that's not the point. The point is that these meetings and hunter input are bogus. Mark
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted June 18, 2007 Mark, While I agree it seems pointless to give input at these meetings I don't see how not giving input helps either? If you have an opinion about the regulations and AGFD has a venue for receiving that input, then I say let's use it. Will it make a difference??? I doubt it. I think we all see the writing on the wall....but I know for sure that giving no input will get no results. So what are the options? Amanda
