Brow tine Report post Posted August 10, 2015 Just curious if I can buy a gelid target like the nones they have at a lot of ranges. They seem to be carpet pressed together and banded? Has any fellow archers ever made one? Thanks for reading and good luck on the up coming hunts.
100%DIYazCOUES Report post Posted August 10, 2015 We make ours, get scrap carpet from carpet stores, cut them about 1'x4' and just stack em up.put a board on bottom a board on top,all thread through the 4 corners and crank it down.can make a 4'x4' target in a couple hours, and they last for years.no good for broadheads though.... QhunterAZ Report post Posted August 10, 2015 Same thing, super easy to make, they are heavy though we have one made with carpet squares 2ft wide 1.5 tall and the wide bet it ways 150lbs. But it stops my 342fps compound in 6 inches.
Red Sparky Report post Posted August 10, 2015 I put a chain link fence top rail built like a saw horse 8' off the ground. Parents had carpet taken out of their house so I cut 3 pieces 10'x16' with padding and threw over top rail. That is my backstop, carpet and padding thrown over the top rail,10'x8' six layers of carpet and padding. If I miss my target I won't hit the brick wall again.
