SpotNStalk Report post Posted August 6, 2015 It's been 1 1/2yrs since we had to put our black lab down . One of the hardest things I have ever done. Didn't think I would want another but after a family meeting we have decided to look for a chocolate lab pup. Doesn't need to have papers but does need to be a pure bred lab. If you or you know of anybody that have pups for sale please send me a pm. Thanks

Willyhunts2 Report post Posted August 8, 2015 Just had to put our 4 year old chocolate down on Tuesday. We bought her for 250, mom had papers but dad was never registered. It was a craigslist deal. My 10 year old chocolate was purchased from a breeder in Douglas with a rich bird hunting blood line. She is gun shy as can be. Needless to say I will be in the market shortly just like you. Let me know if you find a few pups and I will do the same. I've always been interested in the silvers also just never spent the money. Good luck!
SpotNStalk Report post Posted August 9, 2015 Sorry to hear that! If I come across a good litter I will send you a PM! I've been told by a few guys that train labs not to pick up a silver.
Willyhunts2 Report post Posted August 9, 2015 Sorry to hear that! If I come across a good litter I will send you a PM! I've been told by a few guys that train labs not to pick up a silver. Why is that? They give a reason?
Maverick351 Report post Posted August 9, 2015 Main reason on silver labs is they are bred strictly for color. Not sure if it's changed or not but AKC used to not recognize silver because it is essentially a genetic deficiency flaw that causes the color. I am also in the market for a chocolate but not having an easy time finding one.
Willyhunts2 Report post Posted August 9, 2015 I see. Pretty sure AKC recognizes them as a pure breed lab cause breeders are offering the papers on them, at least from a few breeders I looked at.
