Phoenix Varmint Callers Inc is hosting the 9th Annual George Knox Memorial Boot Camp this weekend, Aug 7th,8th and 9th. The late George Knox was a PVCI member and it was his vision to have a in-the-field predator hunting seminar and hunt, to give hands-on instruction to beginners on how to hunt these critters.

The camp is also sponsered by Youth Outdoors Unlimited (Y.O.U.), who's crew will be providing food and folks to set up camp and feed all in attendance. Other camp sponsors are Valley Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Arizona Game and Fish and Arizona Elk Society, among others.

If you are wanting to learn how to predator hunt or have kids that are just getting into hunting, this is a perfect opportunity to learn these skills from expert hunters in a comfortable setting. Lots of nice, knowledgeable people to seek info from.

Well, there's way too much other info to print here, so please see the details on the camp at www.pvci.org home page. You'll find the camp location, map and registration info there.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED! They need to know how many folks to expect. Remember it's totally FREE, plus there is a drawing for a custom made knife to be raffled off to 1 lucky camp staff member: mentor or camp help. Free raffles for the kids too. Y.O.U usually raffles off a gun too, tickets purchased at camp.

MENTORS NEEDED! We desperately need help in the mentor dept. It's rewarding to teach kids/or adult beginners be a successful predator hunter. Come up to the cool country, enjoy the free food, attend all the seminar instruction sessions and mentor someone that is eager to learn to hunt. Everyone knows we need more hunter recruitment, so here's a great opportunity to get involved.

Thank you, Tommy.

Cool that you and your son are going! Wished I could, but made reservations for a resort with the misses a while back. I'll miss meeting you, you helped me on a location for my first New Mexico deer hunt.

Good luck and have fun, Tommy
