Sounds similar to a rattle snake

Recommended Posts

Went to Dugas rd. today for a little rifle sighting with family and friends. We arrived at 6:00 am with cloud cover and rain, got set up , what a beautiful day sun didn't beat down untill 11:00 am. We started packing up at noon, my 13 year old lowered one easy up while I was lowering another. I got mine packed up and went to help him. I got oppisite side from him, where he just stood to click all the releases, and heard a funny sound. The sound was similar to a rattle snake. I looked around and didn't see one. I thought huh, then looked at my tight foot and I was standing on him. High jump up and left. I was safe. Cecil the rattle snake is no longer with us. :(

did have a nice group at 750 yards.post-8438-0-98720600-1438471759_thumb.jpg

Did you have extra undies?????

It definitely made me alert when I went out today. I dont wanna do that again. My tough guy "18" year old said, why did you jump? You already had him pinned just cut his head off. He knows everything.. :)

In the last 3 years I have had 3 real close calls in unit 21. Its rattle snake heaven. I have seen several others that were not a threat.

Yeah really you should've just continued on like nothing, pulled out your knife and sliced, built a fire by rubbing sticks together, and cooked it up. But your boy should show you how it's done first :)
