Take one minute and read me "might just save your life"

When was the last time you went into get your skin/moles checked for cancer?

I go in every two years to get checked, this past time I went in I have 3 pre-cancerous moles that need to be removed. Had the worst one removed last Friday, 13 stitches later. Go get checked so you can enjoy the woods for many more years to come.

Glad you were able to get that taken care of. Take care and wear that sunscreen and hat! Actually I went to the Dermatologist today to get checked. Convenient eh? LOL!

I think I have skin cancer already but with my Odumba healthcare plan I can't afford to do anything about it. Guess I will just live and die with it.

we have many a days with UV index well above 9. People think I'm crazy when they see me in long sleeve clothing in the middle of summer, but really it is a lot more comfortable than feeling the sun burning my skin :-p

Definatley. My mother just went in to have one removed. Let's just say an eight inch scar from her elbow up to her shoulder and at least an inch wide swath of skin as well as some lymph nodes and various other tests later..........she's all clear for now 😊

Great news. I too need to get in and get checked. I've been wearing long sleeves and a sombrero almost without fail for last 35 years.

I guess I'm lucky, my wife's a CCU ICU critical care educator, I can hardly fart without getting checked over. Lol

Wow Becker mine was about the same in skin removal but just 4 inches not 8. Hope she healed well.

I gotta go once a year since dad has melanoma and I have had pre cancer removed off me also. gotta strip naked and have someone go over whole body with magnifying glass. Whatever it takes to get as many years with kiddos as possible!

Great reminder, thank you!

I wear a large boonie hat and at mid day sun its great--puts the whole head in a shadow.

HOWEVER, be mindful of the early morning and late afternoon hours. When the sun is low in the sky, your boonie hat is often worthless. I use a dark colored tee shirt to wrap around my neck and face to keep the sun off. Sunscreen is better than nothing, but a physical barrier is best for prolonged exposure.
