wmathern , I'm not a big fan of most of the the new youth rifles out there. He gets a great used rifle with great glass on top .

Mmtx10, I have looked at the axis. I took him to cabelas and he wasn't comfortable with it .

I have a youth 7mm 08 that has less than 50 rounds through it. Has a Leupold scope on it.

Cabelas has the ruger American rifle, (compact version) on sale for $324.99. Or snag the 7-08 that luckysob has for sale. Great kid gun and will work on anything around these parts.
