I'm curious what brands of food you feed your dog and how much it costs? Just trying to see what else is out there. Been a while since I was in the loop on the gun dog breeds and forums. Thanks

I feed a hghi protein quality food with no corn or cereal fillers. It costs a little more, but the improvement in their condition is noticeable. Also intermixed with freezer burnt meats.

Purina Pro plan performance 30/20 if you run your dogs. If you can't afford that or don't want to spend that money look at Diamond High Energy which has the same ingredients as PPP.

Do not over feed them.

Do not feed them table food!!

Canidae 4 meat meals for my mutt and Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream for my itchy Lab. When I switched the mutt (lab mix) to the Canidae the change and improvement in her coat was remarkable! She works hard keeping us safe and deserves it.

Costco healthy weight. ;) heck now that I see people only give 2 cups total a day maybe that's why mine need weight management food!

Five year old Yellow lab, 70 pounds. We feed her just under 1 cup, three times a day. She has been getting Taste of the Wild, Sierra Mountain with roasted lamb. Her coat is by far the nicest of all the dogs I know. Very shiny and no smell at all, never. Cost is $50 per 30 pound bag.

We fed her Natural Balance for about 3 years. It was a very good product, less expensive. But, when Dick Van Patten sold it to Del Monte, the food was no longer made in the USA and the formula changed. It smelled awful, so we made the change to Taste of the Wild.

Thanks guys. Had someone ask me to take in a dog because of a family emergency and once I bought all the stuff and got things together they sold the dog instead so now I got a house full of kids who were expecting a puppy. Hmmmmm this won't turn out good.

The Costco brand no grain food is actually good stuff. Our oldest eats that or diamond. The other 3 eat a meat mix I make. Even our newest puppy eats it. Healthy poop, healthy coat, not overly hungry thru out the day. I'm not an all meat guy like a few on here but it's mostly meat, sweet tater and a bit of corn meal. All meat is the best but I don't have a fool proof supply so I have to supplement.

I think I read that diamond actually makes the Costco brand but I could be wrong
