COUESAZ Report post Posted June 7, 2007 Well we went to the opening day at the bass pro. It was a neat store to see. It was not overly packed. I did notice they were a bit higher priced than sportsmans. The kelty hiking pack i got at sportsmans was only 150.00 and at bass pro they had the same pack for 189.00. Sportsmans is still closer to me than bass pro. So i guess that sportsmans will still get most of my money.
kphunter Report post Posted June 7, 2007 Just like Cabelas, you have to shop around for the items you're looking to purchase. Some things are better priced than others. I will also continue to shop at Sportsmans, as well as several other stores in pursuit of the best bargains. KP
Jimhm Report post Posted June 7, 2007 For me price and quality are big concerns also but one of the other things that I consider is the dealer. Sportsmans Wharehouse has been a huge contributor to most if not all of the wildlife organizations here in Arizona. Cabella's is doing a lot and I am sure that Bass Pro will to. So for me if the price is not to out a whack, I try to divide my purchases amongst the store's that give back to the hunting community Jim
azcouesandelk Report post Posted June 7, 2007 Went to Bass Pro today and wasn't overly impressed. They do have a good selection but to much of the store is clothes in my opinion . I know they will do well and they won't put Sportsmans Warehouse out of business I know for a fact.

AzPacknHorns Report post Posted June 8, 2007 Made the drive down from Flagstaff today to check out the new Bass Pro, was suprised that it wasnt to crowded the store was cool, really liked all the scenery and all the mounts but it is way to far to be my 1st choice for hunting gear, Sportmans still gets my vote great location when traveling from Flagstaff. It had a "Rainbow" sticker in the bottom left side of the back window and a license plate holder that read: " Gay and Proud" The guy was driving it when I saw him.....I thought about waving at him, but I didn't want him to get the wrong idea sorry david

I thought the place was pretty cool. I picked up a few items that were on sale. It seems like places like Bass and Cabelas carry the harder to find items that you would normally have to order online. I also like Sportmans better. David
Big Browns Report post Posted June 11, 2007 I think Bass Pro has the best fishing section out of all 3. Sportsman's has the best fly tying section and Cabela's has a better hunting section. Just my 2 cents. Bass Pro is huge isn't it. I was pretty disapointed with there Aquarium. I do think it's easier to find things at Bass Pro, unlike Cabela's, especially in the fishing secton. Sportsman's still has them both beat when it comes to the ease of finding things and there quicker to get in and out of.
