MT_Sourdough Report post Posted July 14, 2015 The date on the cam is off by one month and one day, so the real date should be 11 July. Now, judging by the tips of the antlers, being that they are quite pointed, this bull must be close to done growing. Am I right, that a bull can be finishing up in the second week of July? This guy popped up out of nowhere, on a cam in the low country.
murfys69law Report post Posted July 14, 2015 I would say he is about done. Looks like he is thinning to the point.

MT_Sourdough Report post Posted July 15, 2015 Thanks for the replies. These cams are quite the educational tool. Up until now, my elk calendar has been off by a month. Things happen much quicker than I originally believed.
MT_Sourdough Report post Posted July 16, 2015 Today, I was watching a very big bull and it appeared to be rubbing the tips of it's antlers every once in a while as it browsed. Was acting like the tips were itching. Sorry no pics. I didn't even have glass, but it was only a hundred yards across a little bowl, so it was easy to see.
