Viper Report post Posted July 14, 2015 My buddy is in the market for a good tent. He is interested in the Kodiak Flexbow 10x14. Please PM me if you have one you want to sell. Thanks
tjhunt2 Report post Posted July 14, 2015 I don't have one for sale but I will say it is the best tent I ever bought. Even this old man can put it up in less than 10minutes including the ground tarp. TJ

knothead Report post Posted July 14, 2015 A agree with what everyone has said so far. Great tents that are well made, easy for one person to put up, and built to last. I have the 10X10 & 10X14. There aren't too many things that I encourage people to buy but this is one item that I regularly do. The 10X10 is great for two cots and the 10X14 for three. Good luck finding one because most people hold on to them.
lionhunter Report post Posted July 14, 2015 100 % agree that they are the best thing going! What sold me on mine was 55 mph winds in Utah last year!! These things are bullet proof...... Oh, and easy to set up
Viper Report post Posted July 14, 2015 I recently bought a 10x10 at Cabelas bargain cave. I set it up in the yard, but haven't camped yet. What do you guys do for rain protection over the door?...to keep rain from getting in the door when coming in/out. The "awning" seems like it would be pretty worthless in a good rain. I picture it catching a lot of water. I was thinking I would have to put a pop-up canopy against the front and run the tent awning under the canopy and tie it off. knothead Report post Posted July 14, 2015 I rarely use the tent awning. When I do I have had better luck tying it onto a normal stand alone awning to extend my covered area. I have never had a problem with water getting in the tent. The tents have always stayed dry from rain, snow and condensation. I always put a ground tarp down before I put the tent down even though they have heavy duty rubberized floors. I do this mainly for two reasons: 1. prevents pine needles from poking holes in the floor and 2. it keeps the tent much cleaner. I always keep an old rug in the back of my truck bed and I use it in front of the door to keep it cleaner inside. Usually use a 4X6 rug on the inside to keep feet from getting cold. I have found it better to stake down the tent all the way around (not too tight) before I put the poles and stand it up. Good Luck
murfys69law Report post Posted July 14, 2015 I bought my 10x14 at the bargain cave for $380+ tax. Brand new. I do the same as knothead with the tarp under it and some old shag rug in front of door. I use a heavy cloth painters tarp I got at harbor freight for about 12 bucks and spread that on the inside before putting in cots and such. easy clean up, just roll it up and take outside and shake it out. Make sure you waterproof it first. Mine stays dry as a bone when out. The awning will catch water so if you offset you polls so it has a slope to it it will help with not holding the water so much. Or do like you said and use an easy up in front.
Viper Report post Posted July 15, 2015 You have to waterproof them? I thought they were good to go.
azpredator@work Report post Posted July 15, 2015 check out this site for prices. Usually pretty good on the kodiaks if you end up buying new... competitiveedgeproducts.com
Lv2hnt Report post Posted July 15, 2015 Kodiak recommends spraying down your new tent with water before 1st-time use (shrinks the canvas slightly, closing up needle holes made when the tent was sewn together). The canvas is factory treated with a silicone-based product (I can touch inside walls without causing the tent to "weep" water drops like older conventional canvas tents do) --- no leaky!!!
PelaPapas Report post Posted July 15, 2015 I'm in the same boat, I'm looking to upgrade and buy myself one. I've only heard good things about these Kodiak canvas tents. Is competitive edge products the official site/vendor for these kodiaks?
Hoss50 Report post Posted July 15, 2015 I just bought my Flexbox 10x14 off amazon directly from Kodiak Canvas. The price was $580 if I remember right with free shipping. I have only used the tent once so far, but let me echo the above. This tent kicks some major butt in comparison to any of the normal cheaper Coleman style tents I have ever owned and used. They are not even in the same league.

Is competitive edge products the official site/vendor for these kodiaks? that's where I bought mine... cheaper than kodiak site + free shipping and I think they will give discount on ground tarp. just research which 1 you want... 3 models ea. of the 10 x 10 and 10 x 14. definitely at least get the 1 with the top vents for air flow.... the top model has windows on all 4 sides.
