Burro creek Report post Posted September 2, 2015 To answer the question was it a bull hunt yes BUT there were also cows and calves with the bulls. This is why he tried to cover all the tracks. He would not show anyone the game camera pictures of just the bulls coming in. This also confirms what the tracks showed. One of the reason no one else goes and puts salt or scout because in the class sponsored by g&f he tells you not to and just rely on him for information. I am thankful for all the help I am just letting people know what happened to me.
Burro creek Report post Posted September 2, 2015 AZOUTLAW as far as a different perspective I would expect honesty. Like I am moving you because the bulls are coming to the blind you have been in and I have a bull hunter. Not I am putting you in a better spot, thinking he had any interest in actually finding a buffalo. One thing I find disturbing is that he tells you not to walk around, and he does. Call on the radio when you shot one he didn't. Don't drive around he does. That is all I am trying to let people know.
azoutlaw Report post Posted September 2, 2015 I understand where your coming from. But Russ is one of the few good guys when it comes to guiding. He has helped more people for free than probably all guides combined.
Burro creek Report post Posted September 2, 2015 I agree he does a lot I just wish I knew the whole story going in to the hunt. That is what I am trying to communicate to the future hunters and prevent this from happening to any one else. After reading comments I am not the only one this has happened to. There probably needs to be some separation from a guide selling hunts and being an expert for the g&f all at the same time, like I said in the past it just makes for a bad situation with a conflict of interest.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted September 9, 2015 Devil's Advocate response: You went up as a non-paying client. I get it, I cannot afford $2-10K either. Guide lets you use HIS blinds on HIS salt licks he has tended all year long. Guide moves you when a paying client comes to camp so that hunter can sit your stand that Guide has let you sit for free. You do not stay out all day hunting and return to camp midday, possibly missing an opportunity. You tamper with guides game cameras. Guide cleans up spot of kill of blood, entrails, etc. which might give a better chance of another bison coming in to the stand. You leave the hunt before season ends. And you are mad at the guide?

hoghntr Report post Posted September 9, 2015 I have not had the opportunity to hunt buff in Az but with all the trash I have heard last few years I'm not sure I'm even looking forward to it anymore. 26pts but not wealthy and sounds as if ya got a snowballs chance in Az of harvesting 1 of the guides buff.. Oh I mean state of Az buff... Praying for the tag not the drama! It is unfortunate the opportunity has gone down so much for the average hunter. **Build a wall on the border that oughta do it! wildwoody Report post Posted September 9, 2015 No one can stop you from hunting anywhere in your legal unit, i,ve never seen a guides name on a tree claiming national forest as there property, but also be aware who was there first, and if they don't respect your right to be there then shoulder shot. But lets not forget we no if the guides are in an area then so are the animals. Can't we all just get along
