t church Report post Posted July 10, 2015 Anyone ever notice the little grey/silver sticker @ circle K diesel fuel pumps? you are being taxed for commercial road tax. If you take your receipt into counter they will refund 8 cents a gallon. I live in san tan valley went to get My refund and saw the ledger and no one had done it for a month. The clerk did not know about it. there are a lot of diesel pick-ups in the area how much free money do you think they make in a month?
johnnie blaze Report post Posted July 10, 2015 I cant believe a clerk at the K would be educated enough, or believe, that you get a refund. But if it was that easy...im down to confuse some minimum wagers.
Edge Report post Posted July 10, 2015 In some locations you can buy off road diesel called red dye. It's tax free but for off road.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted July 10, 2015 And if you get caught running red dye diesel in a vehicle used on the highways, you pay a "tax" (also known as a fine). It is for machinery, tractors, equipment, etc. I can't believe you got a clerk to give you $.08/gallon back.
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted July 10, 2015 In some locations you can buy off road diesel called red dye. It's tax free but for off road. just don't get caught on the highways! Lotta folks run it, it tears up these newer emissions diesels. I've fixed some that were 8-10k in repairs. I always thought it was the same fuel with just a dye added but I guess not? tjhunt2 Report post Posted July 10, 2015 I use to get a refund in Payson at the Safeway but haven't thought much about it lately. Didn't know they were still doing it. I'll look in to it the next time I gas up. Thanks for the heads up. TJ
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted July 10, 2015 This is not at all stations, most stations don't have the commercial tax, it will be posted on the pump. A lot of the stations on the highway have the tax in place.

PRDATR Report post Posted July 10, 2015 The Shell Station on McKellips and Center used to do it, not sure if they still so. I would usually get 10 gallons at a time to make the math easier for the girls who worked there but they would usually still get out the calculator. Used to go there all the time but when a couple of guys from the middle east took over the one acted like it was a PIA to wait on me so they don't get my business anymore.
