Kingzero Report post Posted June 25, 2015 I got tired of the rattle can paint jobs on my predator killers so I decided to try some Cerakote. It was pretty simple and I think they turned out pretty good. 10.5" SBR and Mossberg in Patriot Brown. Trim on the AR is Graphite Black.
desertmafia21 Report post Posted June 25, 2015 Nice looks great! What's the approximate time and money involved?
Kingzero Report post Posted June 26, 2015 Time depends in what it is. I had a couple parts that took forever to "gas out". You have to soak the parts in acetone and then bake at 300 degrees to get any oil to seep. If any parts seep oil you have to resoak in acetone and bake again. Repeat the process till the oil is gone. The ejection port door on the AR went in the oven 4 times and the barrel on the Mossberg went in 7 times. After that it was just spray and bake to cure. Money is another story. All it cost me was Cerakote ($70) and acetone ($32). The only piece of equipment I didn't have is a sand blaster, but I have access to one. You would need a compressor, mini hvlp gun, filters and an oven.
