5guyshunting Report post Posted July 9, 2015 bring a little shovel and dig a standing spot....ive thought about that! lol Thats funny. I have a friend who worked as an extra in one of the rambo movies. He said anyone taller than Stallone had to stand in a hole. That was probably most of them. lancetkenyon Report post Posted July 9, 2015 My Manfrotto MT294C3 (290 series) w. 700RC2 pan head is 71" to the top of the pan head. With my 15s on an adapter, it puts center of eye piece at 72 1/2" from flat floor. If you are 6'4", your eyes are probably right around 5'11" to 6'0" from the floor, being about 4-5" down from the top of our head. If I put the ball head on the tripod (seen on the counter in the background), I could get an extra 1" in height (pan head is 3.5" base to mounting plate, ball head is 4.5" base to mounting plate). lancetkenyon Report post Posted July 9, 2015 I am 6' -5", so it is plenty high for me, and rock steady. Not the absolute lightest setup, but works great. Well worth the weight and price.
