The AZ. DBacks are having a up and down season. Gettin better lately. An interesting stat is they are 22'nd in all of baseball in attendance . On the road they are 3rd. Must be alotta fans around the country wanna see Paul Goldschmitt. He might be the best player in baseball. And a good guy and low key guy. Hope the Backs can keep winning. My wife is allready waiting for the Cardinals Football. Should be a great year there if We stay healthy.. If Ya get a chance Go see Goldy. I can only watch him on tv here in Dakota........BOB!

This Dbacks team is fun to watch this yr. still young but will only get better. This time last yr the season was over, as they sit now only 4 games back from first place is a surprise to everyone. They just can't seem to get to .500, 9 tries and they've lost each time. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day.

Yeah Goldy's the big draw, dude is literally one of the best hitters in MLB right now.. Pretty good glove too...Times have changed in the Valley of the Sun.. The Sun's were always the hot ticket here in Phoenix and rightfully so. The Colangelo's ran that organization smoothly, however since the Shaq trade and Robert Sarver took over for the Suns they have been a mess..D'Backs are playing mediocre baseball and who would have ever thought the Arizona Cardinals would be the team to watch in Arizona. Mike Bidwill has done an excellent job since he took over things. The hiring of Bruce Arians and promoting Steve Keim to GM were really good moves and now veterans actually want to come play in AZ to win , not end their careers....

Sarver is a joke with the Suns. I had season tickets from about 85 to 95 and was worth it. With prices now and the quality of play no way. They will never win with Sarver. He drove Steve Kerr away. Look at him now. D backs need some pitching to be better than 500. Cards . Can't wait.............BOB!

Yeah dude he's slowly killing the franchise.. It started with not resigning Joe Johnson and has been down hill ever since.. The only smart move he made was not re signing Aamare Stoudamire. Yeah Steve Kerr almost had Steph Curry here in Phoenix. He and Golden State agreed to trade Steph for our pick, Nash and Amare.. Donny Nelson who was the head coach at the time killed that trade they say he literally told the Warriors owner that this would be a huge mistake.. The rest is history.

The Suns just got a little better today and spent a ton of money.. Gave PG Brandon Knight a 5 year 70 million deal, and picked up Tyson Chandler in free agency on a 4 year 50 million dollar deal.

Don't really get into BB much but I have to ask 1 question. Do you guys really think that these guys are worth paying 50 million dollars for 4 years? I just can't fathom that amount of money going to a player. I know it's in ALL the sports these ridiculous salaries but this is just unreal BS as far as I see it. JMO.

I do.. To become a professional athlete at the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL lever takes a considerable amount of talent and dedication. I mean these guys literally sacrifice a lot of their young lives and dedicate it to training and playing at a high level. In some sports not all of the money is guaranteed. Lets be honest these guys get paid millions upon millions because they are the best players on planet earth..I'm sure some of those professional tournament bass fisherman make out pretty well with endorsements and all, and they get paid because they are better than everyone else at what they do.

The revolving door on pro sports makes it no fun to keep up with anymore......I only know one player on the D-backs squad this year and I have even been to a game. Plus TV 3 used to broadcast a game now and then....none of that anymore....and NO they don't deserve that kind of pay.....we got people going out every day getting bullets thrown at them and they don't make beans compared to pro players I don't care when they started dedicating their lives to the sport.......

I agree with Non typical. My brother is a retired full bird Army Col and he has been in 4 over seas conflicts or wars. I think the most he has ever made was around $85.000 a year and he risked his life everyday. I don't remember him ever getting put on the IR list because of a stubbed toe or sprained finger.

Free and open market. Supply and demand at play, and keep in mind that it is entertainment. Makes no sense to compare their salaries to soldiers or other heros, IMO.

My answer to your question is that just like anyone in any field, they are worth the salary that people (team owners in this case) are willing to pay. It is up to the ones who pay their salaries to determine if they are worth it or not. Public opinion does not matter when it comes to assigning worth. If the free market will bear the salaries, then yes they are worth it (from a simple business / supply-demand) perspective.

None of them are worth the $. But the agents get it for them. Tv deal pays for alot of it. But still They are not worth the $ they get. Allthough You have to be a very special Athelte to make it in basketball but the saleries are insane .Iv'e known about 10 pros over the years in different sports and thats all they. do. They were pampered since high school.. The $ make it worse on them. Some know they have something special and appreciate. Then the better You are You get more endorsements too. ON and on and We work on and on................BOB!
