GreyGhost85 Report post Posted June 25, 2015 the laptop is nice because you can download the pics and clear off the card. saves having to buy 2 cards for every camera to swap them out. most tablets don't have enough memory to download a multiple 8-16 gig memory cards in a day

Str8Shot Report post Posted June 25, 2015 I just screen shot the ones I want to take home. Lots of ways to do it ... but IMO having a copy of the native image, being able to clear the card to reuse in the field , portability, storage, viewing on Android phones and comparable in cost to an inexpensive tablet... Gives you more bang for the $$$$$ ... Unfortunately not a good option for Apple IOS I-phone users
CouesPursuit Report post Posted June 25, 2015 I run micro SD adapters in all my trail cameras. If my hunting partner goes to check my cameras or I go to check his, we can put the micro SD's in our phone or tablet and transfer to internal memory, and of course we can still view them on a standard digital camera if that is all that is needed. the laptop is nice because you can download the pics and clear off the card. saves having to buy 2 cards for every camera to swap them out. most tablets don't have enough memory to download a multiple 8-16 gig memory cards in a day You're right. Slightly complicated and clunky for some, but to remedy this situation, I bring a bigger 32GB micro SD that gets each individual camera's photos on it, combined. For example, I go to camera 1, put the camera micro SD card in the tablet, transfer photos to internal memory, take the camera micro SD card out, put in the bigger 32GB micro SD, transfer photos from internal memory to 32GB micro SD, delete internal memory photos once they're verified on the card, and free the tablet back to normal to repeat process with cameras 2-5. At the end of the day, my 32GB microSD has cameras 1-5 all on it together and each micro was left with each camera. 2 SD cards per camera is a thing of the past. I usually clear the cameras micro SD card from two visits past, and always leave the most recent set of photos as an additional backup, in case I lose the main card somewhere along the way before it gets backed up on a PC.
