My 6 yr olds tackle box and pics of his 1st al nighter on the water :)

So were gonna go on a over night fishing trip and I bought my son the tackle box he wanted. When we got home I told him to set up his tacklebox.. here it is

 

4 mechanical pencils

1 refil pack of lead

1 plastic dinosaur

1 slinky

1 stuffed eight ball toy

1 avengers watch

1 pair swim goggles

 

Well that oughta do it!

 

btw I added the sunglasses for him. :)

My personal favorite was the swim goggles. You never know. :)

I think he got all of his bases covered with that selection. Good idea with the sun glasses.

Nope but I did step on it at 1 point and thought about tying it to my custom break drum anchor.

I have 3 boys ages 2 to 8. I can totally relate. This was one of my favorite posts in a long time. Thanks for sharing with us.

Took my nephew fishing for the first time when he was 4. For a kid that seems so "busy" he really grasped the concept of 'Wait and see". He was really good to learn and brag about the #1 rule of fishing....its not about catching anything but getting the chance to be outside.

 

My plan went awry though... he decided the best way to kill time waiting to check his pole was to "compare" our contents of tackle boxes. Now, my fishing tackle is nothing too extensive, but he realized I had funner stuff than I did. Every trip out after that had been something of a collective bargaining session trying to "make sure we had the same amount". It got pretty funny, about every trip, he would trade his stuff for his old stuff and the cycle continues
