azpackhorse Report post Posted August 10, 2004 I have a friend that also got that tag as his 2nd choice. 36b is a great unit, alot of deer so pretty much anywhere you go should be productive. Can't give too much info out over the forum or else people get pissy, so if you are not familiar with the unit at all you can send me a PM and I will give you some starting points. recurveman Report post Posted August 10, 2004 I don't see how 36B was your third choice. I had 36B as my first choice and didn't get it. I would have had to have gottnen my first choice before you got your 3rd. I would check and make sure that you got the tag you think you have. Plus, that would also mean that 36 B in december was a 100% draw. That would just about be impossible. Usually it is around 10% or so. Either way if you want to learn about the unit I would start with the game and fish website. Look under hunt unit reports and that will give you some general directions on where to start. We all have our favorite spots. I'm sure you will have your favorite spots by the end of the hunt. I will tell you this. I saw some monsters in January so they should still be alive today. 111 Report post Posted August 11, 2004 recurveman I guess your number in the draw was a much higher number than m1280. m1280's tag numbers must have been good low numbers in the draw but his first and second choice filled up very quickly but some tags were still left in his third choice 36B area so he got it. Recurveman as far as you not getting the tag, you probably had some higher numbers and 36B was already filled up, so it knocked you down to your second choice. Either that or the computers messed up. Diamondbackaz Report post Posted August 11, 2004 As I know it 111, 3rd, 4th, and 5th choices are given out to the left over tags that were not given out on the first go around with the all of the applicants 1st and 2nd choices. It is not possible for a person to get a 36B December hunt on a third choice since there is way more people asking for this hunt as a 1st or 2nd choice than there are tags. The reason I said it shouldn't have been your third choice is because you don't get your third choice until everyone has gotten a shot at their first two choices. It just didn't make sense. Now that you say it is your 1st choice that makes a ton more sense. Plus, that should be your first choice. It should be a great hunt and you should do very well. Dodger Report post Posted August 11, 2004 I was really starting to wonder if I really upset some higher power somewhere since I didn't get drawn until my fourth choice and my 2nd and 3rd choices were both November hunts with draw rates in the 85% range for my 2nd choice and 97% range for my 3rd choice. I must have had a REALLY high number to not get drawn for those choices. Oh well, I'll show them. I'll make sure that I get the most out of my 4th choice as I can. Heck, at least I get to go and you never know...this might be a blessing in disguise ! Sorry I can't help you with your hunt down there. m1280 Report post Posted August 16, 2004 current intel report, spent the late morning and on into the evening in the ruby area and was by myself on the quad w/ the early scounting essentials and saw 15 wt of which 7 had some hardware the best being about 95-105, i kicked him up from under a tree bout 45 yds from me. must have had a stare down for a minute at least, then as i reached for my camera and prepared to shoot the quad running was shakin me and messin up the view finder(and yes mr buck was frozen the whole time) so i then shut the quad off and as soon as i did he flagged and away he went. next time i'll have it together a little better for all y'all. just got the camera and it has become a part of the gear that has made the cut for this year. next project will include tryin to get some shots posted on here for your viewin pleasure and try to cut joshs' work load a little,, ha ha ha! thanx for the motivation and good luck -mike- Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
