What is everyones choice for rifle sling? I have a new gun I'm setting up and was wondering what all of you prefer in a sling.

I like Uncle Mike slings but they don't seem to make them anymore

Check out the safari sling. I like to carry my gun in a ready position it also gives you the option of going hands free if you need too.

The claw is what I have on the majority of my rifles. Main reason being is if I'm packing it on my shoulder with a pack on it won't slide off the shoulder straps. I've been very happy with them.

I have Slogan Outdoors rifle slings on all my rifles. They are made out of a rubber material that stretch. By far the best sling I have ever seen. Google them and watch the demonstrations. Pretty impressive.

I picked up a rubber sling last year from a booth at the Sportsmanship expo. Will never use a leather sling again. The swivels are also plastic so they don't squeak.

For carry use only, I'd go with an Uncle Mikes mountain sling. Very lightweight and has a non slip pad where it contacts your pack strap. I use a Brownells Latigo sling and use it as a shooting sling in conjunction with my pack instead of a bulky/heavy bipod.

When I hunted red deer in Spain in the mid 1980s, I bought a 1-1/4 inch wide khaki-colored canvas-like strap like those the Spanish hunters were using, and liked it so much I had an airline pilot friend buy a dozen for me the next time he was in Madrid.

I use slings only to carry my rifles, and not for shooting, and these have worked great for me. They weigh virtually nothing and last forever. Back then, they cost less than $2.00 each. I'm sure they're still making them, so if anyone is heading for Europe, PM me. I'd like to buy a couple more.
