photofool Report post Posted June 1, 2015 Today I saw a turkey hen run across the road and she had a egg in her mouth. It happened so quickly I couldn't get a photo. I have never seen that before. Has anybody witnesses that or heard of it before? Any Ideas?
SWDesertRat Report post Posted June 1, 2015 Was it a whole egg or perhaps part of a shell? Seems random and a pretty cool sight..that's for sure. I seem to recall that in book about the guy that raised the flock of Osceola turkeys he said that the turkeys ate eggs, frogs, and smaller turkey feathers that they found while going about their daily routine. They'd be pretty curious about any item they'd find. If you've ever watched a chicken, you get the idea of their fixation with shiny objects and such. I could be wrong but it's what I seem to recall.. Thanks for sharing
