Red Rabbit Report post Posted May 15, 2007 Noticed in the fire news about a new 2000 acre fire a couple miles NW of Lochiel. 0% contained. Don't know if it is in anyone's coues hunting grounds. http://www.nifc.gov/fireinfo/nfn.html Fire season could be a bad one this year. We have already had several small fires this past weekend around Flag, including one of about 100 acres at Lake Mary. Also the Promontory Fire along the rim above Christopher Creek. I can live with the natural caused fires, but the morons that are too lazy to put out their camp fire and throw their cig butts out the window are what makes me mad. elpepe25 Report post Posted May 20, 2007 I could not agree more They have verified that the Promontory was human caused Listed at about 900 acres and 0% containment as of noon today I was on the San Antonio Fire (firefighter by trade) and all it did was burn up mostly grass which will grow back greener and better for the deer, the deer love the burn areas. As for how it was caused i think its still under investigation.
COUESAZ Report post Posted May 20, 2007 When we were camping over easter. We had a bunch of morons pull into our camp spot at 3 AM and parked there toy haullers right next to us. I will not go into detail the whole trip because it pisses me off. When they left camp On sunday they left 2 fires smoking big time. One fore had big long logs hanging out of the fire into the pine needles. Those logs still had visable flame on them. My kids and i walked over and used the rerst of our camp water on the fires to put them out. This was off of the controle road between tonto village and diamond point turn off. They are dunners that treat the mountains like the dunes. Things that are exceptable in the dunes are not in the mountains.
